Overview
The R-22 Transition Course is designed to safely transition a helicopter pilot into the Robinson R-22 helicopter. The course includes instruction in R-22 helicopter performance, special operating procedures and a review of SFAR 73. 10 hours of flight instruction is required to meet regulatory requirements for acting as PIC in the R-22.
Enrollment Prerequisites
Hold at least an FAA Private Helicopter Pilot license
Eligibility Requirements
Read, speak, write and understand English
Hold at least a third class medical certificate

** Hours are based on FAA minimums, not average completion times. Candidates with no helicopter experience will likely require an average of 10 more hours of dual flight instruction. Rates listed are block rates, available when customer chooses cash deposit option of $3,000 deposit increments. Add $10/hr for regular rate on aircraft rental. Prices for books & supplies, the knowledge test, the FAA’s practical test and your medical certificate may vary slightly.
