01/2011 - Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

For the second consecutive year, Epic Helicopters displayed at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, highlighting the company’s ranch management services, including: deer survey, predator control, cattle herding and other services. The 3 week show is the oldest continually running livestock show and rodeo, which has been held annually in Fort Worth, TX since 1896.



12/05/2010 - Texas Christian University Stadium Implosion

In the early morning hours on December 5, 2010, Epic Helicopters provided aerial media support to Texas Christian University during the Amon G. Carter Stadium’s implosion. Epic supplied both still photo and video platforms utilizing three helicopters. Epic has long supported TCU’s aerial media needs, including providing iconic shots for the University’s marketing and public relations efforts. Go Frogs!



12/01/2010 - Addison Base Opens for Commercial Operations

Epic Helicopters’ second base of operations opened at Addison Airport, located 15 minutes north of downtown Dallas. Services offered from the Addison base include helicopter tours, helicopter charter and other commercial services such as aerial photography and video. Epic’s Factory Authorized Service Center and existing flight operations will continue to operate at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport.



12/2010 - Service Expansion Allows Point-to-Point Private Helicopter Charter

Epic Helicopters has completed all requirements during a multi-year Federal Aviation Administration certification process to provide passenger point-to-point service as a fully certificated 14 CFR Part 135 Air Carrier. Epic’s expansion into passenger shuttling service provides greater options and flexibility for customers. As a certificated Air Carrier, Epic Helicopters is held to similar standards related to maintenance, safety and pilot training as commercial airliners.

10/2010 - Epic Helicopters Gains Approval by Insurance Underwriters to Provide Recurrent Training to Aircraft Owners

An audit of Epic’s training programs, methods of instruction, safety record, and experienced instructor pilots has led to Epic’s approval by two major insurance underwriters to conduct recurrent aircraft training for owners of Robinson helicopters, which is a requirements of most owners insurance policies. Through Epic’s comprehensive Part 141 FAA approved Pilot Refresher Course, owner’s can renew up to 6 elapsed currency items in a short course specifically designed to increase pilot proficiency, promote safety, disseminate new regulatory and procedural information and introduce single pilot resource management concepts. Enrollment in the Pilot Refresher Course is open to certificated pilots of any level with a PIC endorsement in either the R22 or R44 helicopters.

Epic earned an award by the readers of Fort Worth, TX magazine for a second consecutive year. “Best Thrill Ages 6-96” was awarded to Epic Helicopters following a voting process. 05/01/2010 - Flying high at Mayfest

For Fort Worth citizens, Mayfest marks the beginning of summer and the event sets the community abuzz with excitement. Mayfest goers and others jumped in line at the chance to experience an exciting variation of the Fort Worth City Tour South. Riders enjoyed views of Trinity Park, Botanical Gardens, Downtown Fort Worth and Fort Worth’s world-class museums. These rides are offered just south of the intersection of University Dr. and I-30 during Mayfest weekend.

04/11/2010 - An exclusive view of the Texas Stadium implosion

Hovering at a safe distance from the spectacle, Epic Helicopters provided the best seats in the house of the historic Texas Stadium implosion…a view not even Jerry Jones experienced! A father and son were the lucky seat holders, taking off before sunrise. At 7:07 in the morning, the helicopter tour culminated with an incredible 25 second implosion of Texas Stadium in Irving, TX!

Though Texas Stadium is now just a fond memory, the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX has been entertaining helicopter tour guests on Epic’s popular Cowboys Stadium Tour and Sports Fanatic Tour packages since construction began in 2006. A helicopter tour of the new stadium is the most stunning way to view the new Dallas-Fort Worth landmark and also an experience that will never be forgotten.

04/03/2010 - 15,000 eggs dropped for Easter celebration

How to deliver 15,000 eggs to hundreds of children eagerly waiting all at once? Epic was able to step in and offer the Easter Bunny a helping hand, spreading 15,000 multi-colored eggs over a football field. The drop was part of a larger community event planned by The Exchange Church in Keller, TX.

Play a Round of Golf with Epic? Epic regularly conducts golf ball drops throughout North Texas to assist in golf-related fundraising efforts, whereby golf balls are purchased from event organizers, then dropped from the helicopter - the winner’s ball makes it in the hole (or closest to the hole).

Epic Flies High at Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Further Expanding Helicopter Ranch Management Services.

Epic is the first commercial exhibitor in the history of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show to feature a helicopter on static display. In addition to other helicopter services provided by the company, Epic is showcasing capabilities in predator control, game survey, helicopter cattle mustering and other service offerings while exhibiting at the show. The show coincides with the announcement of the company's further expansion of its commercial division in support of the growing demands of helicopter ranch management activities.

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is the oldest continually running livestock show and rodeo, which has been held annually in Fort Worth, TX since 1896.



11/14/2009 - Epic Provides Aerial Media Coverage for TCU’s Victory over Utah

Epic Helicopters was hovering high over the TCU vs. Utah football game on November 14, 2009 providing aerial media coverage to document the historic game. The game shattered Texas Christian University’s stadium attendance record as 50,307 fans watched TCU continue their undefeated streak. Epic’s aerial photography and video customers have come to expect a level of quality and professionalism in aerial media work that surpasses the ordinary. Go Frogs!



11/5/2009 - Epic Opens Doors to Domestic and International Markets with Custom Training Programs

Epic has stepped into the international marketplace as a trusted partner in professional helicopter pilot training by meeting requirements during a certification and security clearance process. As a result, Epic Helicopters is now able to issue visas to non U.S. students. These students are able to enroll in Epic’s comprehensive helicopter pilot training curriculum that is also approved by the Federal Aviation Administration under 14 CFR Part 141.

In addition to primary flight instruction for students without any experience, Epic Helicopters also develops and conducts custom helicopter flight training programs for organizations with existing flight departments, providing these clients with safe, consistent and professional instruction conducted by the Company’s Airline Transport rated pilots, the highest certificate a pilot can achieve.



7/31/2009 - Cowboys Stadium Helicopter Tour Featured on Evening News

What made the evening so special for Matt and Jenifer Hawkins? The married couple’s romantic date was certainly the most adventurous gift Jenifer has given to Matt – a helicopter flyover of the Cowboys Stadium, Ballpark and many other landmarks along the way! The couple’s romantic escapade was later featured on The CW33 evening news. "It’s a tour perfect for Cowboys fans" says Walt Maciborski of CW33. 5/26/2009 - Helicopter Tours Voted “Best View of the City”, 2009

Epic Helicopters has been voted “Best View of the City” 2009 by the readers of Fort Worth, Texas Magazine in recognition of a wide selection of remarkable helicopter tours. The award was announced in Fort Worth, TX Magazine’s “Best Of” issue, published in June 2009. Epic Helicopters is also sponsoring the Best Of 2009 party, to be hosted by Fort Worth, TX Magazine on June 12, 2009, benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs.



1/31/2009 - Epic Helicopters Earns Distinction as Part 141 Approved Training Academy

Epic Helicopters is proud to announce the accreditation of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 141 operating certificate. Being designated a Part 141 approved flight academy is essentially the FAA’s “stamp of approval” on Epic Helicopters’ courses, pilots, and facilities. Part 141 certification allows Epic Helicopters to pursue additional accreditations such as approval by the Department of Veterans Affairs to accept the GI Bill and visa issuing authority for foreign students.



11/30/2008 - Robinson Helicopter Factory Authorized Service Center Awarded

Epic Helicopters’ Maintenance Department has earned the prestigious distinction of a Robinson Helicopter Factory Authorized Service Center. The certification from Robinson sets Epic apart as a premier maintenance facility with the highest of safety and quality standards. Epic Helicopters will operate the Service Center in a 3,000+ square foot hangar.



05/01/2008 - Facility Expansion Complete

Epic Helicopters quickly outgrew the original office space occupied since the company’s inception in 2006. The new facility contains 7 individual offices for private instruction and two group classrooms. Epic has the current capacity to instruct 22 students simultaneously. The new space also boasts a student study and flight planning area, a larger reception area, waiting room and dispatch desk.



07/03/2007 - Addition of Flight Simulator Reduces Training Costs

In meeting the needs and training demands of our flight academy students, a flight simulator was purchased to supplement certain flight experience requirements for students enrolled in Epic Helicopters Flight Academy.The simulator is ideal for instrument instruction students wishing to satisfy certain hour requirements at a significantly reduced cost. Rated instrument pilots can also use the simulator to satisfy recurrency of training requirements at an affordable price.
