How Long
is the Certified Flight Instructor Course?
The length of time required to complete the Certified
Flight Instructor (CFI) Course depends largely on your
availability and uninterrupted funding. A CFI candidate
can take as little as 6-8 weeks to complete the course
if their schedule is free of other obligations that
keep them from studying and flying several days a week.
Most CFI students will take between 8-12 weeks.
How
is the Training Different?
You will begin
flying left seat instead of right and gaining confidence
by explaining and demonstrating manuevers to your instructor
during flights and on the ground. You will broaden your
knowledge in all subject areas as you begin preparing
lesson plans, learning to teach others from your lesson
plans, and most importantly, studying.
